China National Coal Group upgrades conference communications with L-Acoustics

When executives from China National Coal Group Corporation visited a partner facility in Dalian and experienced an L-Acoustics installation firsthand, they immediately recognised the gap in their own Beijing conference audio technology. The system in Dalian delivered pristine vocal clarity and the architectural elegance that their own conference infrastructure needed to meet.

China Coal’s headquarters conference room serves as mission control for one of the nation’s critical energy enterprises. The space handles remote collaboration with global partners and multimedia presentations to stakeholders, both requiring flawless audio intelligibility. The existing system fell short. For an organisation managing over 70 coal mines, 40-plus power plants, and 120,000 employees across multiple provinces, communications infrastructure isn't a luxury; it’s operational necessity.

China Coal turned to L-Acoustics Certified Partner Rightway Audio Consultants to design a solution that would meet international acoustic standards while integrating seamlessly with the modern conference aesthetic their Beijing headquarters demanded.

Rightway Audio Consultants noted: “Many people associate L-Acoustics exclusively with large-scale concert sound. But the brand’s engineering excellence translates directly to high-end permanent installations, particularly in conference environments where speech intelligibility, design aesthetics, and reliability are non-negotiable.”

Rightway Audio Consultants deployed L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D modelling software to eliminate guesswork from the installation. The simulation predicted precise acoustic coverage across every seat, optimising the balance between speech clarity for video conferences and full-range fidelity for multimedia presentations.

The final system comprises two Syva units flanking the conference room, paired with one SB10i subwoofer for extended low-frequency response during presentations. Additionally, four streamline-designed, compact Soka loudspeakers are deployed as rear-fill and fixed-stage monitoring. The system is driven by LA4X amplified controllers.

The Syva were customised in white to complement the conference room’s beige marble interior. The result is a system that enhances both acoustics and architecture.
